What is French Onion Soup ?
French onion soup is one of my favourite Continental soup which is originated from France. It is a type of soup which is usually based on meat stock and onion , served with croutons or a larger pieces of bread covered with cheese floating on top. Much of the success of this soup depends on the stock that you are using, and stock varies tremendously in its taste depending on your stock, you may need to bump up the flavour with some beef bouillon.

What is the difference between French Onion Soup and Onion Soup ?
French Onion Soup is made with Broth or Beef stock while Onion Soup can made with chicken stock, Beef stock, broth.
Ingredients for French Onion Soup
▢ 70 g of Sliced Onion.
▢ 10 g of Chopped Onion
▢ 2 cloves of Chopped Garlic.
▢ Salt and Pepper to taste.
▢ 1 Tbsp Olive Oil.
▢ 1.2 tsp Dried herbs ( Basil, Oregano ).
▢ 1 ltr Beef Stock
( Beef bone, Carrot, Radish, Bay Leaves, pepper corn, Leek, Bouque Garni )
▢ Toast with grated Cheese, Chopped Parsley for garnish
▢ 1st steps:
Take a thick button sauce pan and heat it. Than add the olive oil and saute the chopped onion and garlic until golden colour.
▢ 2nd steps :
Than add the sliced onion and add the salt and black pepper with mixed herbs.
▢ 3rd steps :
Now, fry the onion until golden (light brown) than add the buff stock and leave it to boil for 5-10 minutes.
▢ Final steps :
Than pour the soup into the soup bowl topping with baked cheese toast. Now, French onion soup is ready to served garnish with chopped parsley.
