Russian Salad is traditionally orginated from Russia . Russian Salad is also known as Olivier salad. In Russia and in other states the salad has become one of the main dishes on zakuski tables served during New year’s Eve. The original version of the salad was invented in the 1860s by a cook of belgian origin Lucien Olivier. The culinary specialist of the hermitage, one of Mascow’s most commended eateries.

 Is Russian Salad healthy?


Russian Salad is not a healthy food because the ingredients used in it, is not good for the diabetes and heart patients. There are also some ingredients which is good for health but the amount of cream , mayonnaise are been used to make this recipe ‘lots of fat’ is very unhealthy.

Ingredients for Russian Salad

50 gm of Diced Carrot.

50 g Diced Potato.

50 g Diced Greenbeans.

50 g Diced Cauliflower.

1/2 Diced Apple (without skin)

3 Tbsp Mayonnaise Sauce.

1/2 tbsp Fresh Cream.

Salt and Pepper to taste.

200 g of Green Peas.

1 pc Boiled Egg.


 PREPERATION METHOD OF RUSSIAN SALAD

  •  Boil the diced carrot, potato, green beans, and cauliflower, than soak in cold water with salt.
  • Now take the deep bowl and put all the ingredients (no egg) than mix or marinate very well.
  • Now, Russian salad is ready to serve ,with bed of lettuce, garnish with long diced boiled egg and  red cheery in four corner topping with parsley.
