What does Thukpa mean?

Thukpa is a Tibetan Noodles Soup which is originated from Tibet. It is mainly famous in Nepal and the favorite dish of all Nepalese people. Thukpa is mainly served as the main course. It is a watery noodles dish, comes with assorted vegetables, meat, and many healthy ingredients.

Yes, Thukpa is good for health because it is a good source of protein, carbohydrates as it contain various nutrients like Chicken, Green vegetables and Mushrooms.

Thukpa is a soup Dish that has a lot of flavors of various nutrients like- Chicken, Mushrooms, Green vegetables. It is quick and easy to make at home and perfect for cold winter and makes our body warm.

      INGREDIENTS :

  • 1/2 lb of Rice Noodles.
  • 1/2 cup of Julienned Carrot.
  • 1 cup of julienned Bell Pepper.
  • 3 cups of Chicken Breast.
  • 1/2 cup of Onion (Shallots).
  • 2 cups of Baby Spinach.
  • Half cup of Spring Onion.
  • 1/2 cloves of Green Chilly.
  • 1-2 cloves of sliced Garlic.
  • 1tbsp of Ginger.
  • 1 ltr of Chicken Stock.
  • 1/2 tsp of Szechwan Pepper.
  • 1/2 tsp of Black Pepper.
  • 1 pinch M.S.G.
  • 1/2 tsp of Salt.
  • 1tbsp of Corn Starch + water.
  • 1tsp Vegetable Oil.
  • 1tsp of Soy Sauce.
  • 1 cup Cilantro.
  • 1tbsp of Lime.
 

Cooking Method.

  • Cut the Carrot, Bell Pepper, Garlic, Green Chilly, and Onion into julienned thin about 2inchesh long. Set aside to Baby spinach.
  • Cut the Chicken Breast into bite-size pieces then boil the Chicken breast for 15 minutes until cooked and set aside.
     
  • Boil the Noodles in the pot for about 8 minutes. Turn off the heat and remove the noodles from the pot so they do not overcook. Reserved the stock.
     
  • ▢ Take a Thick Bottom Pan and heat the Oil. Add the Garlic, Ginger, and Szechwan pepper, Green chilly, Onion, and saute for 30 seconds.
     
  • Now, add the Boiled Chicken Breast and saute for 20 seconds then add prepared vegetables and saute them for extra rich flavor.
     
  • Add the Chicken Stock into the pot and add Salt and Black pepper, M.S.G, Cilantro, Soy Sauce, Spring Onion, and Cornstarch for thickened the soup.
     
  • ▢ Simmer the Soup for over 5 minutes and your Chicken Thukpa is ready.
